With nearly 30 years of experience in government, high-level strategic communications, and public affairs, Michael Wascom has developed a reputation as a deeply connected political strategist.  

Before joining Kdence, Wascom served as Managing Director of Government and International Affairs at American Airlines. In his role, he represented the airline on Capitol Hill, within the Executive Branch, and with foreign governments around the world in addition to providing high-level advice and counsel through a major corporate merger.  

In 2004, Wascom was appointed to two senior positions at the U.S. Department of Transportation in the George W. Bush Administration—Counselor and Chief of Staff to the Under Secretary and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Governmental Affairs. He brings national trade association experience as the former Director of Federal Affairs and later Vice President of Communications at Airlines for America, the nation’s oldest and largest airline trade association. He also served on the staff of a Republican U.S. Senator and two Republican Congressmen.
