Kdence this month welcomed Gus Portela and Ali Boettcher to the team. Gus will serve as a Kdence Director, and Ali will contribute to campaigns as a Communications Executive.
Gus has led political operations across the county in regions including DC, Michigan, Puerto Rico, and California. With over a decade of experience, Gus has executed high-impact Republican campaigns by strategizing and executing comprehensive communication plans and fundraising efforts. Among his numerous high-profile leadership positions, Gus has served as Senior Press Secretary and Director of Media Relations to the Mayor of San Diego, Communications Director of the Michigan Legislature, and Senior Policy Advisory to the National Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce. His contributions have been recognized through frequent media appearances and several accolades.
Ali comes to Kdence with a deep knowledge of political communications and campaigns. She most recently served as Press Secretary for Congressman Zach Nunn. She also worked in both operations and communications for several competitive congressional campaigns. She brings a wealth of expertise in strategic communications, policy engagement, and issue advocacy. Ali is a Des Moines resident and has built strong relationships with both Iowa press and national media outlets.
